1. Software engineering

67% of CMU-SV graduates are working as software engineers, building the systems, platforms, and infrastructure that drive tomorrow’s technology.

Our MS in Software Engineering program develops backend engineers, cloud architects, and ML-focused developers. Students graduate ready to build scalable, reliable systems and many enter roles ranging from new grad to senior-level technical contributors.

2. Cybersecurity

61% of cybersecurity-focused graduates pursue roles in security engineering or software development. From threat detection to infrastructure resilience, these students are trained to secure systems at scale.

Through our MS in Mobile and IoT Engineering and MS in IT–Information Security programs, students gain deep technical expertise in system design, AI-driven threat mitigation, and secure product development.

CMU-SV students have gone on to become Security Engineers, Threat Analysts, and AI-savvy defenders at top companies like Google, NVIDIA, and SAP.

3. Artificial intelligence

As AI reshapes industries, CMU-SV students are evolving with it. We are seeing a rise in graduates landing roles such as AI Software Engineer and AI Product Manager, combining ML proficiency with systems-level thinking and product acumen.
