Trailblazers Virtual Talent Show

Your fellow Summiteers span the globe and have many talents in addition to being exceptional students! We will invite you to send in a short clip of you performing something you’d like to share with the CMU-SV Summit community, such as a talent or a performance (get creative!). For three weeks in November, videos will be shared so whenever you need a study break before finals, your Summit community will be there to inspire.

Send us your video! Directions on how to send your video will be sent through the Student Affairs newsletter.

Trailblazers Virtual Talent Show will be shared Monday, 11/2 - Friday, 11/20

Tales from the Trail Storytelling Event

Tales from the Trail is a storytelling event where CMU-SV students, staff, and faculty from around the globe are invited to share their stories. Adapted from the podcast and live performance show, The Moth, Tails from the Trail will feature a theme with each storyteller invited to share their true and authentic story live to fellow Summiteers. An excellent way to practice public speaking and bravely connect with your community, Tales from the Trail will be a one of a kind SV experience that you won't want to miss.

Take a few seconds to share with the Summit community what you are grateful for in this Summit Community word cloud. On Monday, November 23rd, we will share the finalized word cloud with the CMU-SV community.

Summit Social Guide Registration

Every good adventure requires an equally good guide to inspire, motivate, and keep you on track. The first week of classes will culminate in the selection of Summit Social Guides (SSG) - a representative for each Summit Squad that will partner with CMU-SV Student Affairs to bring the CMU-SV experience to you, around the globe. Each Summit Social Guide will receive a special CMU-SV shirt and have the honor of bringing their Squad together for social events throughout the semester with the support and guidance of the Associate Director of Student Services and Engagement.

Summit Squad - Pack for the Peak

Summiting a mountain is no easy feat, but it helps to have a great pack of peers on your side to support you. Meet your Summit Squad for the first time and prepare for the virtual adventure of a lifetime with your new crew! Join your Summit Squad friends for this part team-building, part Summit Squad-competition where you will "pack for the peak" and decide what tools you'll need to get to the top. The Squad who packs for the peak the best will win a badge. You'll also decide on a name for your Summit Squad during this event! You won't want to miss this.

Friday, 9/4

6:00 p.m. local in your timezone, live with your Summit Squad

Summit Squad Campfire Stories

There’s nothing like starting a night before the summit with a good campfire story. Gather ‘round in your small groups and build a campfire story together that is sure to be told for generations. Your Squad will start with a complete sentence, then finish with an incomplete sentence. You’ll go around finishing each other’s sentences, three words at a time, to tell a complete story. Later, we’ll share the stories told by each Squad and vote on the stories - the Squad to tell the best story will win a badge!

Thursday, 9/10

7:00 p.m. local in your timezone, live with your Summit Squad

Game Night - Codenames

Staying connected to your fellow adventurers is crucial when trying to summit a mountain. How well can you read the minds of your fellow Summiteers? Join your Squad for a fun round of Codenames, a game where two teams compete by each having a "spymaster" give clues that point to words on the board while other players on the team attempt to guess their team's words. It’s a friendly race to the top by guessing all the words assigned to your team before the other team does!

Thursday, 9/24

7:00 pm PDT
