Students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) MS program can pursue a portion of their study at the CMU Silicon Valley campus, working with faculty, researchers and other MS students in a small, warm and exciting environment. The Silicon Valley campus is strong in software engineering, security, wireless sensors, mobile computing, machine learning, and wireless networking. Campus faculty and researchers work closely with many Silicon Valley companies. All students who are interested in pursuing a portion of their MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree must begin their studies in Pittsburgh and may request a location transfer to Silicon Valley during their graduate career.

For admissions, please use the MS ECE online admissions process. Students must apply to the MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering program in Pittsburgh. Requests to transfer to the Silicon Valley campus are not guaranteed prior to admission.

ECE Day is an annual community event on the last day of spring classes, hosted by ECE SAC with substantial contributions from the other ECE student organizations and support from the department.
