Ritchie Lee is a staff researcher at Carnegie Mellon University Silicon Valley located at the NASA Ames Research Center.
As part of the Robust Software Engineering (RSE) group in Ames’ Intelligent Systems Division, Ritchie conducts research on decision-making systems, machine learning, and controls. Of particular interest is developing advanced algorithms for the design and analysis of intelligent aerospace systems including aircraft collision avoidance systems, air traffic automation, planetary rovers, and unmanned aerial systems (UASs).
Ritchie is affiliated with the Intelligent and High-Performance Systems Laboratory (IHPS) directed by Prof. Ole Mengshoel and the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory (SISL) directed by Prof. Mykel Kochenderfer.
Ritchie is currently working on applying reinforcement learning techniques for the adaptive stress testing of the next-generation airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS X).
Ritchie is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He holds an M.S. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Waterloo.
